Bid acknowledgement

A bid acknowledgement, sometimes called a memorandum, is a short form the winning bidder signs to confirm who they are, which lot they bought and at what price. It records the purchase at the moment of sale, before the invoice is issued. In online sales the bidder’s registered account and the written confirmation of the purchase usually serve the same purpose.
