Dutch auction
In a Dutch auction the price starts high and falls until a bidder accepts it, so the first bid wins. If nobody accepts before the price reaches the reserve, the lot is not sold. The format is named after the Dutch flower auctions, where a clock counts the price down. It is fast and well suited to selling many similar lots.
